In one sentence
Draw lines to trap the bouncing dots, and every canvas you finish becomes a painting with a title like “Composition No. 2 with Yellow, Red, and Blue.”
In a paragraph
Composition takes the computer game from the 1990s where you trapped bouncing balls with lines, and makes what you leave behind into a painting. Swipe, and a line grows both ways; if a dot hits it while it’s still growing, it breaks. Close off a space with no dots, and it fills with red, yellow, blue or white. Finish, and the canvas is titled the way Mondrian titled his paintings, by its colours, and hangs in your gallery. There’s a new board every day, numbered and the same for everyone, and you race the friend whose time is just ahead of yours.
